Tracy Hobson MClSc, CHE, RN, BScN, BScHK

Tracy completed two undergraduate degrees, a bachelor of science in human kinetics from the University of Guelph in 1993 and a bachelor of science in nursing at McMaster University in 1997. Tracy has spent almost three decades working as a Registered Nurse in community health. She has fulfilled various roles working for Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health and the Hepatitis C Secretariat at the Ontario Ministry of Health. Twenty-two years of her career were spent working in STBBI (Sexually Transmitted and Bloodborne Infections), first in public health and then as a Harm Reduction, Outreach, and Hepatitis C Treatment Nurse for Sanguen Health Centre.

 

Tracy also worked at the Consumption and Treatment Services Site at the Guelph Community Health Centre as an onsite RN and trainer. Work at the Consumption and Treatment Services Site focused primarily on providing equitable, trauma-and violence-informed care and advocacy for traditionally underserved populations. From the front lines of the opioid crisis to pandemic response, Tracy’s career has been multifaceted and client -centred.

 

Tracy’s passions include creating innovative opportunities for client engagement, continuous quality improvement, and training healthcare providers in equity, harm reduction, and trauma-and-violence-informed care. In 2022, Tracy returned to school and completed a Master of Clinical Science in Advanced Health Care Practice and a Certified Health Executive designation.
